New penaire superflo trips breaker

This is my in-laws pool I don't have a pool.i took out old pump put new in trips breaker before it even primes.gets warm too. Pleasse advise

Well, logic says it has to be wired wrong, or something is wrong with the pump.

My vote would be it is wired wrong.

What voltage was running the old pump? Since the SuperFlo can be run from 120 or 240, which voltage is the pump set for?

How about a picture of the electrical connection at the pump...

Most Dual Voltage pumps come prewired for 240V, not 120V . Like Jim said - check what you're feeding it and what it replaced, and the new pump motor as well - it's all got to match.
