New Orleans: Cabana Wrapping Up

I've always been curious about something and since your spa is like this I'm going to ask. Why would you want to have the spa wall the same height as the pool waterline? Won't the cold water from the pool get into the hot spa? I don't understand how this will work.

The way I understand it is, as long as the pool water level is below [which it is by 1"] the spa wall:
1. In pool mode: the spa water overflows into the pool. Just like a normal raised spa would do with a waterfall.
2. In spa mode: the spa water recirculates in a loop with the heater and back the spa. Just like a raised spa would do...
3. Oh, and I have an auto-fill/spill-over on the pool. So, hoping I can more easily maintain the correct pool water level.

Cabana electric rough in’s begin. Bricks for perimeter coming at end of the month. Still waiting on some dry days to get the dirt out of the yard. More rain in first 6-months of this year than a typical entire year! The very last item will be the cool deck.

Looks like Bisazza Le Gemme tile? We loved the look of those, but could not justify the minimal order size they required for our small pool. Even if we had done a 12" waterline instead of 6", we *still* would have ordered more than necessary!

I love the light brick house, too.

Looks amazing, love the setup. Maybe it’s the fisheye view, but there don’t seem to be many control joints in the concrete.
Lots of control joints… But lots of 45-degree mini-cracks… I’m not worried; we’re eventually having a cool deck sprayed on…

Still waiting on the following:
IntelliCenter - Have EasyTouch as placeholder
IntelliValves - Have older auto valves
IntelliBrites x6 - Have nylon pull strings 😉
Bubblers w. GlobRites x2 - …got more pull strings
MasterTemp 400K - got Uturn PVC stubbed in.
IC60 - got an ic40 placeholder

But, we can swim!!

Got through Hurricane Ida ok. Tons of debris in pool; 3-kids cleaned all that out… and a big shout out to our S200 Robot!!

with generator, we never lost the pool, though we were out of power for 14-days. we’re finishing up the cabana structure; then onto the outdoor kitchen.

Fixed the Poolmiser auto drain by tunneling under the deck 15’ and lowering the drain line 12”.

still waiting on Pentair Lights (6); 400K Heater; IntelliCenter…
