New motor/impeller higher pressure

So my 3/4 hp motor just went bad yesterday. I had a new 1hp motor and impeller in the wings just waiting for this moment. I replaced the motor and impeller and the seals. My psi has always been around 15. Now its 20. Is this a concern? Would i expect more psi from a slightly bigger pump? The motor also feels hotter than usual. I changed from 230v to 115v per instructions. Any clue what might be going on?

PSI should be higher. A larger motor and impeller will push more water through the plumbing causing higher head loss and much higher energy use. Not usually a direction I would recommend.

If the old motor was full rated and the new motor is up-rated, the motors' total hp might be the same.

What are the hp and sf of both motors?

What is the part number of the new impeller?

Did you measure the voltage at the pump with the pump running?
