For the last 10 years I've owned and maintained my 16 x 32 inground swimming pool. On startup up I add 2 lbs of shock and DE, throughout the season i use liquid chlorine, and on closing 2 lbs of shock and polyquat 60. That's it nothing else. I don't even test my water or own a test kit.
Unfortunately my brush snapped and put a hole in the liner. I'll be getting a new liner and water tomorrow.
My question is am I foolish to think I can startup the pool the same way with completely new water?
