What’s up ya’ll! My girlfriend and I are underway with construction for our IG fiberglass pool.

- 14’x30’ Latham Majesty Ocean Blue G2
- Jandy CL460 Filter
- Jandy 1.65HP VS Pump
- 2 PAL LED lights
- 1 shelf bubbler

Going for a very simple clean/modern build and look. So far we have taken deliver of the pool and the backfill is complete up to return jets. Waiting on plumbing to come through and do their thing.
Our backyard is pretty small so it has been fascinating to watch the crews navigate the tight working space!

I’ll do my best to post updates as they happen!

Thanks y’all!

How much clearance did you have for them to excavate?

I, too, live on a small property...and am planning on having a pool built, but I don't think I have the clearance needed for a readymade fiberglass pool. Even concrete may be a problem if they need to get a bobcat or some other excavation equipment back there.

Looking top down I’ve only got 10’ from my fence line in the back to edge of pool and ~10’ from fence line on left side of the pool. My neighbor is graciously letting me use her driveway for access since I don’t have a wide enough path for equipment to get in my backyard. She’ll be getting unlimited pool time haha

Yea, I will have to get a deal done with my neighbour too.

My property is narrow but long (25'x200'), with the backyard being 25'x80' long (perfect for a pool).

My house is only 4 feet from my neighbour's (we have a shared walkway between our houses), but they have something like 10' of space between their house and their other neighbour's house.

I will probably have to remove the old cedars and rusty fence on that side, but I'm good with both neighbours. Will probably be damaging my neighbour's sod in their backyard too (and replace that too).

Not sure if fiberglass will work anyway (since it comes prefabricated as one piece, and we have a two storey home, so I don't think they can go over it).

Concrete pool with access via my neighbour's side seems like the most likely option.

If you’re interested in fiberglass I would definitely recommend talking with a couple installers in your area before ruling it out. It’s amazing what their cranes can pull off!

I'll be following this one for sure. Same pool and color we are getting, hopefully still on track for September. Love the pics, and look forward to many more!

For our project, we have a 9' access on the side yard, and our PB said he will be able to get everything through there without having to mess up any of the neighbors yard or fence. Its a tight squeeze, so I know what you are going through.

For the crane, its cool to see what they can do with these and the precision. My other side neighbor installed a 16x36 fiberglass last year and it was moved over his house, and mine! It was fun to watch, but moving that massive pool with precision over two, relatively large, two story homes was impressive. A bunch of neighbors sat at the top of the hill behind our houses when they did the drop.

Best of luck with moving forward with this, you may just get some swimming season out this year!

Not much progress this week...they poured the pad for the equipment today in anticipation of plumbing that is supposed to take place tomorrow and then electrical will be later next week if the rain holds off!

I've got a teeny tiny back yard that we are getting ready to demo and break ground on. My yard is approximately 26' x 55' and we are putting in a concrete poot that is 30' x 14' with 8' diameter spa. Fortunately I have 8' between fence and house so they can get back there with a bobcat. I also can't wait to see the process.

We’ve got electrical completed with our 2 little LED lights! 3836CECD-FB2F-4495-9943-A7B89A18F361.jpeg

The plumber has to come back and plumb for the waterfall and fix the skimmer because it’s apparently installed wrong 🤷🏻‍♂️

Our builder told us that they are about 3 weeks backed up on concrete work so we might be sitting still for another month 😫

Yeah, water is currently about 4 inches below the skimmer opening so they can replace it. I asked what was wrong with it and the builder just said it's installed incorrectly haha so who knows...glad he wants things to be right though! The builder also mentioned to me that I am the first pool they have ever done with a cartridge filter instead of sand, I thought that was pretty amazing.

I am an hour and a half south of you in Helena Arkansas, who is your builder? We are looking at fiberglass pools for our house. Either the Latham Corinthian 16x40 or the genesis and add a tanning ledge. Also add a spa with either one.

I spent all last week contacting different companies and got response, I blame it on everyone and their mama wanting a pool due to covid.
