Hello All,

Looking for input to help balance water. Our pool gets little to no use right now but it’s pretty to look at because it is still sparkling after the SLAM help I have received here.
It is hot, mid to high 80s, low 90s. Rains most afternoons. The pH keeps rising to 8.2 and I am seeing some new staining - yellow spots.

Am I supposed to turn off the pump 30 minutes after adding MA?

Here are current Poolmath numbers:

FC - 5 (I use 10.5 liquid from Pinch a Penny, no pucks)
CH- 200
TA- 70
TA- 70 Fill water
CYA-40

Thanks!

Not sure what I should keep CYA and TA at for my non-SWG, super hot temps.

Your TA and CYA are fine.

I add MA and the levels creep back up to 8.2.

That is normal to need to lower pH one or two times a week in plaster pools.

You have a spillover or water features running?
