Will all lights be through one transformer?
If so, the 5 relay version you have listed will suffice. One relay for Pump, one for lights, one for cover(if needed, unsure on that). No actuators unless you plan to bypass heater when not in use.
Anode unnecessary. Will add zinc to your water but not sure it will be a big deal.

No idea on the cover interface. Would have to talk to that manufacturer on how it meshes to Pentair automation.

If I was going to buy the Intellicenter online and have my electrician install it, is the 521905 what I would need?
Yes, that bundle would fit your needs just fine. It comes with the IC40 which would be great for your new FG pool

Do I need any valve actuators?
Not really. In your setup, you do not have any bubblers, waterfalls, slide, or water features so no on the actuators.

Am I safe buying a gas heater in IN or should I go back to looking at heat pumps?
For your location, a NG heater will be better than any heat pump. To extend you season a bit in the beginning and the end, a 400k heater will do the trick nicely. I'm not up to speed on all the different heater brands and options, but you could do some more research on that. Jimmy mentioned one above, and the good news is any brand heater can work with the Intellicenter.

If I wanted to tell the Salt cell not to run when the cover is closed, what parts would I need?
You need to run a low voltage line from the Intellienter to the motor side of the cover. Inside the Coverstar cover box, you install a rotary encoder which attaches to the motor. In the Intellicenter, you install a.....

There is a pretty good thread here from one of the memebers who is tackling it himself.

Your electrician can get all the parts from a pool supplier, and in the thread above are the installation and programming directrions.

Good luck!

Thanks again. You are all so helpful and knowledgeable. Good to know that any pump would work with the Intellicenter.

Couldn’t find what type of heat exchanger is in the Master Temp 460736 and 460775.

The 460805 is described as heavy duty and has a Cupro-Nickel heat exchanger. It is $400 more online than the above models.

CoverStar Sensor with IntelliCenter? | Trouble Free Pool

I spent a lot of time on the phone with Pentair engineering and Coverstar getting this all sorted out. I’m happy to say that I installed my IntelliCenter on Friday, and the most recent firmware does add the cover functionality. Now....if we could just get our pool installed....was supposed to be this fall, but material restraints pushed it to spring. Oh, well - gives me plenty of time to get the pool house all trimmed out and the equipment pad set up like I want it. Still need to finish plumbing, run trim and install a couple of windows when those finally arrive, but almost there.

There’s not a ton of info on this setup, so feel free to message me if you have questions. Happy to help, and may be able to save you or your PB a little time figuring it out. I did link to the manual for the cover expansion card in the thread above - it does not ship with one...

Thanks for the info. Nice equipment room. Very neat job. You won’t be out in the cold & rain working on your pool equipment.

Started researching the Raypak heaters. They have a new feature called “Protek Shield” to protect against galvanic corrosion when properly bonded to the heat exchanger (do you think that is a Zn anode?)
Also Jimmy, you said you buy the Cupro Nickel heat exchanger. Is that the ASME commercial model?
