Nautilus CC Plus vs. Polaris 9550

I have a Nautilus CC Plus that will not run anymore and is about 2 months out of warranty. I am debating whether to fix it/replace the motor unit or try a Polaris 9550. The Nautilus did okay but would often not clean fairly large areas of the floor and did not do any of the steps.

Anybody have any input as to how well the 9550 cleans steps and big pools?

I have the 9550 and it doesn't do steps, I don't think any do, at least not well. Two minutes spent brushing the stairs before running the 9550 does the trick. Does an excellent job overall.

Thanks. I'll probably just try to fix the Dolphin then as it doesn't sound like one cleaner is probably that much better than another.
