Name that valve

Does anyone know what this valve could be for? There is water running through it when the pump runs. I'm stumped.

No way for us to guess. What happens if you close it?

LOL...

Can't really tell any difference if it's closed. Must have something to do with the paramount valves. I've done some testing and it's not the connection between the two paramount valves and it's not the connection between the paramount valves and the filter outlet.
