Hello All,

Found this site about 1/2 way into my build so I’m a little late. I am shooting for a clean/rustic look, we are in Texas and my house has that rustic colored white rock. It’s going to be rectangular @ 18 x 36’ with an 8 x 8’ Spa with spillover and a 7 x 12’ Sunshelf w/ 2 bubblers. I will post some pics of the progress and would love any feedback or opinions. I did a travertine coping and the spa will be a Scabos splitface. We did Meridian electric blue waterline tile and leaning towards Stonescapes midnight blue or tropics blue with glass.

Agreed!! Had the water line tile grouted this morning. He started off with a standard lighter grey he always uses but I really wanted darker for it to blend and not look like stacked bricks. Tile guy was very cool with that and washed it off. He went and grabbed a darker grey and We both think it looks 100x better. Do u guys recommended sealing that tile and grout? If. So what’s is the best to use. Thanks!

Trying to post pic but it’s too large🤔

Well here the grout is dried. A lot lighter than I had hoped for. A lot better than before but wish it would have stayed dark 🤦‍♂️
I wonder if sealing it will darken it back down🤔

New “problem”. I had the concrete guys form out some columns. I really want them to stand out. My plan was to wrap the spa in the split face travertine in the pic but now I’m thinking it would hide the columns! My options are to still wrap them in split face or do the blue tile up the spa face and do columns split face around or do columns in travertine and everything else splitface or every other option in between. Need a designers eye on this one!! What do y’all think????078BAA8D-75D5-4522-832D-7FDE0B2EAC03.jpeg

We have the same stone and a similar(ish) tile. We are happy with ours, but if it was not for the water features it may be a bit boring. I would add some sort of inlay or tile accents if I were you.

Yes I agree. Thinking of going blue on the spa face and doing the splitface travertine on columns and the rest of the surround. The to- will be capped with the travertine. I think .... 🤷‍♂️

Also stuck on the swg or bleach thing. I’m in Texas so everyone is talking me into the bleach. I have a freind who after 6 years converted because the salt was destroying everything thing around! I have no equipment yet and all I know is my builder uses Pentairs largest residential sand filters , 3 hp vsp pump and swears this is the best way. I have no freaking idea what to do after reading all this. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
