Motor replacement. Wired the same?

Hey y'all,

I'm not an electrician, but I play one in my back yard. I'm replacing my old waterway 1.5 HP motor with a new waterway 1 HP motor. The old one has neutral on 3 and line on 4. I think it's going to be the same on the new motor, right? The label shows line on 1 & 4, but doesn't label 3. Should I assume that is neutral?

I think hot & neutral goes on 1 & 4 and it does not make a difference which way. I think 3 on your new motor is like 6 on your old motor.

I agree with you... The input AC goes to 1 and 4 and it does not matter which is the hot and which is the neutral..
