Modify Bullnose coping

Hello! We are installing an 18x36 pool and have only been able to get the bullnose coping. My wife is opposed to the bullnose coping. We are installing pavers all around the pool and I am trying to find the cantilever coping, but it seems to be backordered everywhere.

I was looking at this bullnose coping and I am considering running it through my bandsaw to cut the bullnose off, leaving me with something similar to cantilever coping. Do any of you guys see an issue with this?

I'm still trying to source the correct cantilever coping, but if I can't get it.....do you see any issues with me cutting the bullnose off? I'm trying pretty hard to accommodate my wife on this one.....she has not asked for anything on this entire build, except the coping.

Thank you for any opinion or suggestions!
Mike

Welcome to TFP :)

I am getting this coping from DFWcoping and really like it..

Straight Rock Face DFW Pool Coping

I am not sure on shipping though... Like one smart person said.. A pool does not know if the paver is called coping or not.. Anything 2 inch will work.. :)

Great, thank you for that source! I will definitely look into them when I order all my pavers. I should have specified though.....I am wondering about cutting the bullnose off of the plastic or metal coping that attaches to the top of the pool wall. The coping the liner hangs from.

I would look at the profile of the two extrusion channels you are considering- if the one with the bullnose is the same minus the added coping, and if removing it cleanly would result in the same profile as the cantilever, then I think that answers your question. You want it to be nice and true so your stone coping has a consistent surface to rest on on while installing.

Ok, thank you. That makes sense. I can't believe I can't find any cantilever coping that isn't backordered 2 months. I can set my bandsaw up to make nice, consistent cuts. I'll keep searching and I will study the profiles harder. Looks to me like it should work, although I hate to cut up perfectly good bullnose.
