Mini-Pool Lights - Straight or Staggered

Hey Folks -

I'm a first time owner/builder of a 16x31 rectangular in-ground pool in SoCal with a depth of 8 feet.

I've a quick question on pool light placements. I'm adding 6 mini 1.5" color LED lights from CMP.

4 in the main pool, one in the Baja Shelf and one in the Spa.

The question I have is the main pool area - should I have the 4 mini lights straight across from each other like this



Or should I stagger them like this

Where is your house located?

You do not want the lights shining towards the house.

Agreed - main house is on the deep end side. Guest house is on the Spa side. That’s why the Baja shelf & Spa lights are pointing that way.

I vote straight across. I like symmetry.
