Manufacturer Water Chemistry Recommendations vs TFP

I’ve been using TFPC since March and I’ve had the most beautiful, crystal clear water!

I was reading my liner manufacturer (loop loc) recommended chemical levels and was surprised to see that their recommended FC levels is so low (between 1.0 and 1.5 - Vinyl Swimming Pool Liner Maintenance and Care)

They say higher levels will “attack” the liner.

Based on my CYA of 40, my target FC is between 3-7. Problem is, in order to keep it from dipping below 3ppm I must raise my FC to around 7 or 8 each night because I lose between 3 and 4 ppm on a normal day.

Is the trade off to shorten the life of my liner to keep my pool sparkling?

Should I consider only raising FC enough to around 5 and risk letting it dip below 3ppm?

The FC they state is without the buffering effect of CYA. Your 7 ppm FC with 40 ppm CYA is significantly lower effective chlorine than the 1.5 ppm they state.
