Liquid Chlorine question from a new guy

I started looking locally for liquid chlorine. I found PolyGuard Ultra Shock at Blain's Farm and Fleet for $12.99 for 4 gallons. The specs say Sodium hypochlorite 12.5% by weight. This would work right? Is this a good deal?

I went to the store as I wanted to find the date info. I took some pics. On the outside of the box was 09919 and this number was also printed on the bottles. Any idea how to decode this? I assume it's a date code.

That is great. The date code shows the 99th day of 2019.

So maybe a month old? If I kept in my basement, how long would this last? I haven't checked yet to see if they store indoors or out.

In your basement, a good two or three months. Best idea is to get a months worth now and then resupply as needed.

Now if I only knew what a month's worth was . I have no clue at this point. I'm hoping to get my test kit this week and get this sucker rolling.

You can assume you will use at least 3 ppm FC worth per day. More on high swimmer days.

You will use about 25-30 oz per day so 1 gallon will last you about 4 days. Then you'll need a few extras if you have to slam. 10-15 gallons should be a safe purchase

FYI, I used 80 gallons of 6% in 2018. My pool is almost twice as many gallons as yours. I keep a solar cover on mine most of the time. Just to give you an approximate amount.
