Liquid Bleach/Chlorine Frequency

If one assumes an optimal level of CYA, how frequently would you put liquid bleach or chlorine in the pool?

Also, how does everyone store their liquid bleach/chlorine?

I agree, when I was using liquid chlorine I would test and add daily during swim season. In the winter I would test and add every 3 or 4 days (CA so I don't close the pool).

I have stenner pump that doses my pool daily. I adjust the run time as required. I refill my 15 gallon container about every 2 weeks.

How many gallons do you go through during the summer?

I used ~50 gallons ($160) for entire season in CT including I think just 1 SLAM

I store it in my basement near laundry which is right next to door to pool. You just want to keep it out of direct sun and ideally out of high heat. Sun and high heat will degrade bleach.

I used 80 gallons last year. I fed my pool daily when the water was warm.

I store my chlorine in a temperature controlled garage.

I'm adding 2.5 to 3ppm daily now as it's warming up. That comes to about ~60 ounces of 10% chlorine per day on the high end.

I go through 2 or 3 gallons but my salt water generator pumps chlorine in the pool all summer long

In the summer about 3 gallons a week. I am in So Cal with direct sun much of the day. In the winter it was probably a gallon a week. I have a Lowes less than a mile a way and they stock LC year round so it was never much of a hassle, but I will admit the last month with a SWCG has been nice.
