leaving for a few days - no SWG

I have seen several posts about vacation prep, but they all discuss SWGs. I don't have an SWG, and I certainly don't want to come home to a green pool. I will only be gone 4 days. Should I use pucks? I can stand to get a little more CYA as mine is around 30 right now anyway. I don't think dumping a whole lot of bleach is the answer, so I just wanted some advice to see if I am on the right track.

Thanks!!
Kelly

I have the same situation coming up and am considering raising my FC level to halfway between my normal target and the shock level, then putting some pucks in the skimmer as well as a couple in the floater. Somebody tell us if we're nuts! And also some extra water to allow for evaporation.

Raise to shock level, use pucks, and put on a solar cover if you have one. That combination is reliable at four days, and acceptable at a week, give or take having a major storm.

Thanks Jason. This topic comes up so much, I think a nice good explanation should be incorporated into the "Pool School".
