LCD Display for Raypak R336A

I have a Raypak heater MODEL NO. P-R336A-EN-C from 2005. The LCD worked intermittently for some time and now is always blank. If I raise the set temperature the heater works.
I would like to replace the LCD display without paying for the PC Board control that is $200.
Is this possible?

According to: 013640F | LCD Display
this part only works for R336A manufactured after May 2011. Mine is from 2005.
Other web sites say after 2004. maybe I need to look at the PC board to see if the LCD display can be changed or if it is soldered to the board.

If the LCD is socketed then cleaning the pins sometimes gets it working.

I would definitely look at the board to see what you are dealing with. Maybe you can get a manufacturer or part number off the LCD.
