Hi.

I have a Jandy True Clear system added to my automation system. The tech configured the aquapure settings on the iaqualink to provide 60% for Pool and 5% for Spa. We don't see anything else on the TrueClear display. Only says Standby 0% and if you press the power button it flip between that and JandyAutomation.. So not sure if it is actually working or not. Any ideas? The Pool Tech is going to call for another crew to check on it as he is not sure on the automation piece as when that is enable you can't manage the true clear with the front panel buttons it seems.

When checking Status on iAqualink I have:
Filter Pump
Jandy ePUMP 1
RPM: 2250
Watts: 463
AquaPure 0%
Salt 3000 PPM

This is a new pool so no clue on what to check next until the warranty crew from the PB comes in a week or two.

Any idea?

Yes. I have. Pool tech set it up 60% Pool / 5 % SPA. But on the True Clear pannel I always see the panel in Standby with an icon meaning that is Remote Controlled by an Automation System. I went ahead and put the Aqualink in Service Mode and that way I'm able to use the buttons on the TrueClear pannel and after selecting the percentage it change to Chlorinating.. but if I move the Aqualink back to normal operations (out of service mode) the TrueClear goes back to Standby 00% with the Automation Icon on the side. Question is should I see the panel display changed to Chlorinating ... even with the Automation system right?

Also on the aqualink manual and config everything is Aquapure but the system is TrueClear .. is that the same? newer version?

Sorry for my stupid questions.

Jandy has 2 SWGs, Aquapure and TrueClear. They both work with the same iAqualink.

So you are saying that the picture I show above on your system shows that the SWG is set for "some percent" but the panel on the actual unit doesn't reflect that so you just want to confirm if it is actually producing? I suggest calling Jandy tech support and see what they say. You could also look at the cell and see if you see tiny bubbles being produced. Another method I have used is to get a good sample of the water right from the pool return. To do that, put it back to iAqualink control, set the Aquapure at 100%, wait 5-10 minutes, then take a water sample and test it for chlorine. The sample should be significantly higher than your general pool water.

Yes. I was under the impression that I should see if it is Chlorinating or not by watching the Display directly on the True Clear but it is not showing anything once it is back to iAqualink control.

I may need to do this to check if it is actually producing then.. Does your FusionSoft display if it is Chlorinating?

You have the "light" model. My FusionSoft is fully integrated into iAqualink it has its own display right in the main Aqualink box.

Strange. The fact that you can set Aquapure levels on that iAqualink screen says that iAqualink "sees" it. But since the percent setting is not showing in the iAqualink Status screen (shows 0%) and is not showing on the True Clear panel tells me that something is not right.

BTW, my Aquapure definitely shows the percentage being dictated by the iAqualink on the Aquapure box/panel when in slave mode.

If it were me, I'd shut down the system and inspect the RS-485 Comm cable. I would want to confirm the colors are in the right order on both sides and inserted firmly on both the True Clear side and on the RS4 Control board.

Yes Dodger, weird that the percentage setting is not displaying on the iAqualink Status screen (always shows 0%). I checked today the RS4 control board and the cable/colors were set in the right order.. (There are two set of cables on the same RS485 Comm Cable (one is the TrueClear the other I didn't trace it to see what it is). I wasn't able to check on the TrueClear.. do I need to take the whole panel out? or is just the cable at the bottom?

The true clear is different it is entirely self contained. The aquapure and fusion soft have a seperate power supply with the panel in it. Did you try the chlorine test at the return? Did you power cycle everything?

I haven't done the chlorine test as I ordered the test kit but not here yet. So I have nothing to test currently. I did power cycle everything couple of times and always the same with the TrueClear. I did open the aqualink and the connections seems to be good (Data Port).. I haven't check the TrueClear connection yet.

I would test your chlorine asap or else you are going to end up with Algae. Your local pool store should sell chlorine test kits. FAS/DPD style kits are best but at this point I'd settle for test strips. You need to know asap if you have chlorine in your water.

Do you see any tiny bubbles coming out of your returns? Set your chlorination at 100% to test.

If unsure, add a gallon of liquid bleach per day until your test kit arrives and you can confirm if your SWG is producing. Have you added CYA to the water yet?

Also how old is your pool? Generally you are supposed to wait 30 days with new plaster to use the saltwater chlorine generator and use liquid bleach during that time.

I did have some test strips for FCI/ALK/ph... I used one now and the numbers are as follow:

FC: 1
Alk: 80
pH: 7.8

Salt was added yesterday morning.. I think 6 bags.. not sure on exact quantity.. as it was the PB that did it.

Ahh ok maybe it wasn't working because there was no salt in the water. I highly suggest the K-1766 it is far more accurate and you really need accuracy with SWG pool salt.

Filter Pump
Jandy ePUMP 1

Where is it saying 0%? I thought you said the Aqualink was showing the set output and just the display on the actual unit was showing 0.
