Many changes since last post. I had to replace the 15-year-old leaking liner. With the liner out I had 2 bottom drains installed. I'm hoping this will keep water circulating faster and keep chemicals off the bottom. I replaced the ancient filter and switched to glass media. (had to sell one of the grandkids to pay for it all ... just a joke folks!)

I uncovered the pool just 10 days ago. With a cheap solid cover over the aging mesh cover the water was amazingly clear. Not the black lagoon like past years.

In a short time, again, compared to past years, the water is crystal clear and here are my stats.

water temp 70 degrees (I know, not normally given)
FC 4
pH 7.6
TA 100
CYA 40

Please ask questions and advise accordingly.
Here's looking to a great pool season!

You can do this by brushing after adding chemicals or running your pool vacuum.

What are you using to chlorinate? Whether it’s liquid chlorine or a SWG, be sure to keep your FC at the right level for your CYA
FC/CYA Levels
I brush often but many chemicals are heavier than water and soon sink to the bottom after brushing. I'm an old lady and believe having drains on the bottom will help significantly and save time. The drains also reduce vacuuming allowing me to sweep crud directly into drains. I love my bottom drains!
HDX CL from HD .... on sale, $19.99 / 3 gallons.
