Hello to all,

Have some nbors that are having a pool installed and the coping is a 1" thick tumbled travertine, a light greyish color.

The edge of the travertine on the pool side is squared w an overhang. They really didn't want [or know to ask at this point] a sq'ed edge and would have preferred a rounded or bull-nosed edge. Is it feasible to have a good stone worker try to put a bull-nose edge w the appropriate grinder/finisher? This would be the only option as opposed to ripping it out and starting over. Unless there's some type of "rounding guide", achieving a uniform bull-nosed edge would seem pretty tough to me.

Thank you,
tstex

Is the pool plastered and water in it?

Grinding down stone takes big machinery. It will a lot of time consuming labor to do it with hand tools.

The pool has not been plastered yet...still gunite and dirt or no decking yet either.

also, the pool is a free form or kidney shape and the coping widths are about 10” in length all w linear straight edges. This means the edge of the interior coping does not follow the free form contours of the pool. I think they have an argument for this flaw..
