I know I have a few small iron stains in my pool. I have used a vitamin c tablet to verify this. My question is, do I need to use Asorbic Acid to remove them, or can they be removed with using a sequestering like Jacks Purple Stuff?

There are only a handful of them and they are only the size of a pea, in case that helps.

Thank you as always.

The sequestering agent doesn’t remove the stains, it holds the metal in solution to keep it from depositing on surfaces. Use the ascorbic acid, then use the sequestrant.

If there are only and handful of very small ones, you might want to try sock with some crushed up vitamin C and just dab each one.

You are about to hit the rainy season and get a significant water exchange if you can just get the iron into suspension.
