Well some of the moderators have greeted me by virtue of my first post - but howdy y'all!
Purchased a home with a 27' / 17000 gallon above ground pool last year and been through the wringer on maintenance issues. Piecemeal rebuilds of the plumbing, a possible algae(?) issue I cannot seem to fix and finish.
While I can't describe my local pool store as particularly egregious, they aren't shy on shilling a $85 a bottle mustard algae "cure" and, insofar as I'm aware, their specialty is installations not routine chemical maintenance. Thank you to whomever wrote the Wiki entr(y|ies) on pool test kits. I was getting close to shelling out for the LaMotte disk analyzers they have in-store along with the obscenely priced BioGuard chemicals.
Once I nix this algae(?) issue, hoping to explore the worlds of pool automation and emulate some of the amazing decor I've seen y'all posting. I may live in the mountains but my heart rests on the Carolina coast.
