Intex A/G pool 1-1/4" inlet+outlet FIX, hard 1-1/8" polycarb pipe inserts, CA Title 20 Hayward pump + RX Clear filter 1100gal small salt pool.

So, I decided on this filter with my Hayward pump - a nice metal unit from RX Liberty (USA made), returned that that Chinese made "Blue Devil".

This Rx Clear Liberty, one includes hoses and clamps for Intex 1.25" hoses too, pretty sweet. Also saves $20 too.

This will definitely be carried through to a larger A/G pool later as the kids grow.

I'll post pics as the final setup completes, and how the inlet/outlet insert pipe upgrade performed.

Final Setup, 3000 ppm Salt Pool at 1100gal for 8x6 Intex metal frame Pool. I still use a 1" clorox tab now and again.
RX Clear 14" Sand Filter + "Cotton Tails" 3-5micron artificial filter media (no sand, upgrade) from Flow Master
Hayward pump 1hp = strong and silent, Filter socks pre-filter before the sand filter and protect the pump.

Intex hoses are gone, went with Fibropool, they are nicer (have ends to cut every 3' feet) and handle the higher pressure, I have a video showing a fully ring-clamped clear intex tube, leaking on the return side of the pump.. In suction, they are fine, but pushing water back to the pool, no go. I'm returning 2 of the Intex hoses, two other ones I'm turning into a purge-line for when cleaning or flushing the filter media out. Intex sells a garden hose adapter for the lower pool drain. It's $1.76 + $4 ship direct on Intex site (versus $12 on amazon) Which still leaves 2" of water at the bottom, wierd why they didn't put it lower?

All in all the 1-1/8" O.D. clear polycarbonate pipe upgrade for the 1-1/4" O.D. inlets / outlets on the intex pool pipes, perfect!! Cheaper and safer, than cutting the 1.5" eyejets, maintain pool integrity (I'm not great with exacto knives, better with dremel), and makes ring clamping these smaller 1.25" hoses a breeze.

So I'm also posting a picture of one happy 3 year old little girl, thanks guys. I added therometer, use salt meter, TDS meter, and chlorine test strips.

I put a GFCI switch on my outdoor electrical outelts, and waterproof orange extension cord with LED indicators on plugs to the Pump plug itself. Not sure why they don't include GFCI on these hayward pumps, like my airconditioner in window has on it's plug? Safety I tried to elevate the cord, keep it away from pool, as best I could, put pump and filter on their own brick pavers isolated with a Lifetime table over it. Will only run at dusk, evening when kids are on in the pool. However, the water jet is strong from the pump-filter combo - wife and I could use it like a cool-water spa! Funsies. maybe install one eye jet just for that eventually.

So for all those looking to make a backyard (Title 20 compliant) California Townhouse (many townhomes with 20x20 foot backyards like this in USA), can take a pump system like I show here, or buy one integrated for around $300-$400. Skip the sand, go for salt/chlorine pool, and use the "filter balls" or "cotton tails" artificial cotton ball filters. Way better.

Also I LOVE the push-pull valve on RX Clear Liberty filter, turn off pump, pull valve out... purge the cotton-tails media until water is clear. Push valve in, return to pumping/filtering.

Final, final setup images here. Super happy the Clear, hard 1-1/8" pipe insert idea works realiably! Putting the pipe images back in, important for others to copy :)

Almost no leaks, need a small amount of silicon on fibropool hose on the high pressure line from the pump, much better than Intex hoses when fully ring clamped..

Also, still thinking a better wire routing (safety, though I used water proof extension with GFCI plug add-on) and will only run the pump a few hours in the evening to take care of the 1100 gal kids pool. Nice thing when I upgrade pool sizes, this filter-pump setup stays with me.

About 6-8 cups pool salt gets me to 3000ppm for 1100gal pool. Also running light free chlorine and pH up corrected for local water.
