I recently had a new panel installed at my house requiring new wiring to the pool. After installation, the old timer stopped working correctly so I replaced with a new (220V - Intertec 104) one and it turns out the new one is doing the same thing. I can turn the pump on in the morning and it will run and shut off correctly however, the clock stops running once the timer shuts off the pump so that the next day I have to restart the timer and turn on the pump. I am thinking I have wires crossed. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Sounds like you have the white timer power wires connected to the load terminals instead of the line terminals where they should be.
