Imagine Illusion 40 Complete 10/19/21

Yesterday's work... they pulled the rest of the forms and did some more grading on the driveway side and buried some rocks that I was thinking about keeping. PB (Old Man, he reminds me of my dad so much so I've got a huge soft spot for him!!!) said it'd be better to bury them n save on fill dirt. I told him to bury them.

My water stayed very clear after concrete pour. It definitely has rocks and crete in it but it stayed nice. The edge turned out very nice too. I like it. We got our first death yesterday morning through the night. A big preying mantis. They saw cut the concrete too. And finished grading by the driveway. I am going to purchase a Pennsylvania native wild flower mix here soon. And steps the Old Man cut in for me that I have to figure out how to stabilize.

Last 2 pics I took of the pool yesterday after they left. I cant walk down there right now because of all the clay and we got rain.

I ordered 60 more thuja green Giants. As soon as my fence guy starts on Tuesday n my fence is finished on Wednesday, I'll stagger the rows of Thujas on the inside of the fence n get them growing to encase the whole pool in except for the front of the fence along the driveway. When it's done, in 5 years or so, you'll never be able to see the fence or the neighbor's.

Getting there!
I'm so happy with how everything has gone. I think the only major upset is the corner of my pool where the fiberglass is exposed due to the bad patch someone threw on it. As soon as the water hit it, it dissolved.

60 green giants! Wow, that’s going to be crazy here in about 10-20 years!

Pool is looking great!

Dan
Fully enclosed yard on 2 1/2 sides. It'll also cut down on winter wind beating the house on the back n side which could be good. Not to mention extreme privacy. :deal:

Do you anticipate any issues with the grade going from the driveway down to the pool when it rains? Will you have to add some type of drain?

I don't think I'll have any issues. I'm planning on planting wild flower mix there. The rain run off usually runs closer to the road n then through the yard which would hit closer to the end of the concrete pad. They fixed the road right before I got the pool. It poured today n I haven't seen any standing water.

I have named my pool. Although this is my granddaughter's pool, it's my pool too since I'm paying for it. LOL My inmates call the good side of me Bloomy becauseim so sweet. So I have named my pool "Bloomy's Illusion Becomes Reality". Just like that, the mirage in my head has become real. I can't wait to see the plainess become boastful with full blooms of flowers and great happiness. I can't wait to see my granddaughter swim her self tired and enjoying what we once had! I miss that time so much!!! We lost 2 summers together and it was 2 summers to long.

Pool is still crystal clear. It looks pretty with the wind blowing. Through my transition lenses... it looked emerald green. Yes... I'm doing a bucket test right now. I texted my builder with some possible water line discrepancies I've noticed. It could simply be a combination of evaporation and the wind disturbances and the pipes being unrolled to full length to pump site. It's more pronounced in the shallow end than the deep end. There is a white line from the dirt n concrete dust roughly a 1/2" in the shallow end on tanning ledge. I'd say around a 1/8" difference of white line n water line in deep end. It's been incredibly windy here. Bucket test dont lie. It'll be ready to read tomorrow morning when he gets here. It's on him to fix if we do have a leak. I know he'll get it done. Itll be one of 7 return fittings for lights n returns, the skimmer or the bad patch from the pool yard that disintegrated. But hey... my water looks good given how dirty it is. I have not put anything in it because I was asked not to.

I hope I pass this bucket test! I'll be so mad at myself if I dont. PB will have a mess n be sore if I don't!

🙏 Here is hoping the PB lives to the end of the day! Go bucket, GO! You can do this!
I'm sure he will. Its been so windy here. I'm tempted to get my work light out n bundle up n go out to check it. It's like 47° out right now! Going to a high of 60° n breezy today.
