I think I found a leak! Pool renovation beginning.

Demo started today. Nice 10ft lateral crack in wall..

Travertine, blue surf Pebble and new tile should bring this 80s-build money-pit back to life. We're excited.

How will they fix the crack?

They plan to cut/chip it out and refill with concrete. That aren't big fans of epoxy/Staples.

They should probably determine why it cracked before determining the fix?

I've had several bids on the remodel, and varying proposals on how to fix the crack, but this is the first time the pool has been drained since we bought the house last year. The remodel job includes repairing the crack as I knew about it before work started.

I also had a leak detection company inspect the pool a couple months ago, and he did not find water escaping through the crack. But seeing the moisture coming into the pool, there's obviously an issue.

Gunite and rebar next. They are pressure testing the spa extensively to see if that could be leak, and adding a second drain.
