How to shock an above ground pool

I have a 24 by 52' pool and shocking for the first time. I'm using powdered bags and was wondering how to shock it. Thank you.

Shocking your pool is not a product within a bag, but instead a process. Read pool school and with enough time and persistence you will get it done no problem. I just had to undergo this recently when I had to fight off some algae. Listen to these guys they are very helpful and good luck!

Well my numbers straight from the hose with no chemicals added are all 0, but PH which is 6.5. So that is what is in the pool right now.

Is your water from the city or from a well?
How are you testing?
