High PH low alkalinity

My TA was at 60 when I opened this year and my PH was a little low. So I brought the TA up to 70 and my PH has been steady around 7.5-7.6. We’ve had a lot of rain the last 2 days and my results this morning are:

FC- 6.0
CC- 0
PH- 7.9
TA- 70
CYA- 40

My PH is a little high and it says to add 2c of acid, but won’t that also lower my TA- which is already on the low end? What should I do?

To lower your pH from 7.9 to 7.5 you will need 45floz of 20 baume MA. That will reduce your TA by 5.7 ppm that may or may not be detectable by testing.
Your TA is fine as long as you are above 50 ppm. But if you really want to keep it at 70ppm you can add 39.5oz of Baking Soda to add the 5.7ppm of TA back.
