I have a Jandy JXI400NK heater with the factory-installed bypass. I am getting a High Limit Fault. Through reading, I have learned that the first thing to check is the high limit sensors, and I see where they are normally located, but my bypass seems to be located where they should be. Can someone PLEASE help enlighten me???

See page 5 which has the wiring diagram. The Hi-Limit sensors are plugged into (d). Find the wires that are plugged into the PIB and follow it.

Well, I learned that it's a big pain in the Rear. I also learned that those instructions are printed on the inside of the front panel. I was able to find the wires and trace them to somewhere behind the left panel. I attempted to unscrew the top panel and the left panel, but some of the screws just spun and wouldn't back out. My equipment is shoe horned in behind cement walls and I'm am 6'4 360, so I wasn't able to get my head in there to trace them. I did find a Jandy authorized tech who's willing to come out Monday, so I'm going to leave it to a "professional". I'm also going to watch, so I'll try to report back with more findings. Oh, and of course I'm 3 months out of warranty.

The Versaflo on the JXI heater is so new I would bet the Jandy tech does not know the answer either. But at least he can call Jandy tech support and they will talk with him.
Most times the hi-limit error is actually the thermal regulator that is bad and causing the hi-limit sensor to get activated, doing its job. Take a look at the thermal regulator.
It was, indeed, a bad high limit sensor. In order to access them, he needed to remove the top panel and then the right side multi-piece panel. The sensors were located behind the panels, after the versaflow. Got hot water again! Thanks for the input.
