I’m a new member here, but have owned a pool for about two years. We started initially by having a place take care of our pool, but after continually messing up our pool chemistry (to the point of necessitating a new salt cell!) I decided to take it on myself.

I’ve been doing a pretty good job via the cheap test kit I have, with monthly trips to the store to have them give me some readings, but I’ve noticed they are wildly inaccurate. We had algae buildup after just a one week trip, so just for fun I took my water in on several consecutive days and got readings that don’t make any sense and they can’t explain it. This happened multiple times, so I’m done with that.

I just ordered a Taylor K2006-C test kit and am going to commit to using that to get better, more accurate readings on my pool.

Happy to meet you all.
