Just moved to Florida's Nature Coast from California. Retired and have a new in ground pool with exposed aggregate finish and Paramount in floor cleaning system. We just started it up last week it's overwhelming with all the dos and don'ts. Looks like it's going to be a learning experience. I ordered a Taylor 2006C test kit and I'm using Leslie Pools and Pinch A Penny Pools for in-depth testing.

Great choice on getting a quality test kit. I would not take much comfort in the Pool store tests. Your testing will be far more accurate and repeatable.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.
