Hi Everybody

Hi everyone just got my first pool and I’m so glad I found this site.

Everything is a little overwhelming at first but I think I'm getting a handle on it. Slowly

Just got my Taylor 2006c and my first set of accurate (I hope) results.
Fc 5
Cc 1.2
Ph 7.8
Ta 250
Cya 60

I see slamming in my near future.

Happy to be here

Welcome to TFP! If you haven't read yet:
ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry
make sure you do so. :)

How does the water look?

Other than the CC's, your numbers don't look too bad to me.

I think you're going to want to lower your PH to 7.2 using muriatic acid (since you won't be able to test it accurately once you start a SLAM), get your FC up to SLAM Level, and do an OCLT tonight:
FC/CYA Chart
Overnight Chlorine Loss Test

PoolMath will tell you how much MA to add to lower the PH.

If you have more questions on the SLAM I'd recommend a new post in the proper subforum and the experts will be happy to help.
