We’re in the process of building out pool and have a spa that is attached to pool. We wanted to achieve the look of the spa being inside the pool and would like to have the spa wall at or just above water level (1-2”) above. Does anyone have any experience and any pro’s and con’s setting the dam at water level? Any consequences when running spa mode?

Hi and welcome to TFP.
If I understand your design, if you have your spa overflow at the same level of the pool, if you heat only your spa then you may lose some of your heated water to the pool even in spa mode. There may be a way to turn off the spa overflow if it is plumbed correctly as seen in some other threads and can be controlled by your automation center. With people in the spa you will raise the water level and most likely lose some heated water regardless. It will be interesting to hear what others may contribute.
