Local pool people as well as Hayward have been zero help in identifying the parts (believe they are check valves)

Also anyone have a clue what tool to use to get the cover off?

Anyone know if parts are still available or what newer style design is compatible?

Contact Inyopools tomorrow. See if they can help you. Probably have you send pictures of the item.
Do you have the assembly that goes in the jet body you show?

This should work:

Its tough to see but where the arrow is pointing to is a part that isnt attached to the fitting seat, it is actually separate and requires its own tool to remove.

So no one can identify this part, I have contacted inyopools, local and on line spa parts suppliers as well as pool builders/remodeling companies.

I guess I have the red headed step child of spa jets..... on to making a custom tool and removing this and seeing what exactly is behind there.
