It says:
Alarm status
Low Ambient Temp

My interpretation is just that. A heat pump pulls heat from the air. The outside temp is 73°, the water is 84°, the pump is set on 88°.

So it's just saying nope there's no heat to pull from the air?

Just want to be sure we don't actually need service.
It's not quite 2 yrs old.20210530_140134.jpg

The UltraTemp should run down to 50F.

Your manual is at https://www.pentair.com/content/dam...Pump_Installation_and_Users_Guide_English.pdf

What is the Suction Temperature? See page 17 step 8.

Then see page 28. You may have a bad thermistor.

LOW AMBIENT TEMP Alarm: Refrigerant temperature sensor indicates air temperature is too low for heat pump operation.
- Defrost cycle did not complete within allotted time - Wait until ice melts from evaporator coil and/or air temperatures rise.
- Bad thermistor. View reported suction temperature on control board. Use 10k ohm resistance test to verify thermistor.

Do we attempt to fix or is there still warranty? I'm guessing per your instructions there's no warranty.

We've run it 10 times or so. Just lucky I guess.

I would contact Pentair and make a warranty claim and see how they respond.

Did you register your products with Pentair. Pentair warranties vary...

While the majority of Pentair products are covered by a sixty- (60) day warranty, a select number of products qualify for extended warranty coverage.

Select Bundled Products: applies to purchases and qualified installation of a minimum of a pump and filter, and one or more of the following: heaters, heat pumps, control systems, automatic cleaners, lighting, salt chlorine generators or UV sterilizer**

*Note: Qualified Installer
- Defined as a licensed professional who charges a fee for his services, and possesses a business license, contractor's license and/or resale permit. Common examples of a "qualified installer" include: Swimming Pool, Home Repair or Landscape Professional; Plumber or Electrician; General Contractor; Heating and Air Conditioning Specialist.

**Note: Bundled products - must be purchased on the same invoice and installed at the same time. If any product within a bundle is ineligible for the bundled warranty coverage then all products within the same bundle will be disqualified from receiving the three (3) year extended warranty coverage for bundled products.

Apparently there's a defrost that was on and has an "open". Turned that off since we aren't cooling and heat is working fine.
