I opened my pool today and when I went to turn on the pump, it sparked and tripped the breaker. The impeller will not turn by hand when I reach in. Any suggestions on what may be the cause and if it's fixable? Thanks!

Opened up the pump tonight and was able to get the impeller free moving. Capacitor looks ok and was replaced last season. Put it back together to give it another shot and same problem. Sparked right away and tripped the breaker. Any ideas?
Check to see if the wires have bare spots that are making contact with the metal of the motor.
