That's a mesh cover and let's the water through. Do not tighten the straps on the cover now. Leaving the pump in that spot will maintain the level you have now. Make sure the pump is always plugged in.

I really can't say for sure what cover you have and only you know what was purchased.

Opened the pool back up today and it looks like water has been running into pool from deck relief cuts. On at least two of them. Tested with a hose and there was a steady stream and you can see dirt line as well. What’s the fix?
