Hayward W3HP21404T HeatPro 140,000 BTU Pool Heat Pump for In-Ground Pools

Is this right for me? Do I need all those BTU? Or should I go with the 110K BTU?

Live in warm climate. Likely to use it about 4-5 months per year.

What size is your pool?
Is gas an option?
Do you want to heat all the time, or just heat the pool up when you need it?
Is this for a spa, pool/spa combo?

With prior one we’d keep it at a decent temp and then warm it up for weekends.
Just a pool, no spa.

Basically this is replacing what we had before (albeit likely a better brand and model).

I think propane might be an option

Propane is expensive and pricing is volatile. Natural gas heaters are cheapest to run and comes in the largest sizes, heat pump second but only has smaller sizes, propane is most expensive but comes in same sizes as NG. If your climate is mild (Fl), a heatpump should work for you.
