Hayward Heat Exchanger Replacement

I have Hayward Heat Pump HP50A. The heat exchanger cracked. I have the replacement part and feel if I could solder that I can install this myself.

Is this a DIY project or is it time to call in the professionals?

I believe you will need to evacuate the refrigerant to remove the heat exchanger. If that is required you need an EPA Section 608 Certificate and the proper tools and gauges to capture the refrigerant and then properly recharge the HP.
