Hello, I accidentall’y forgot to turn on my water values when starting my Hayward H250 gas heater yesterday and it caused an abundance of smoke and small fires. Today, everything is settled and I noticed the pilot light was still on so I opened up the water valves to attempt to start the heater again and there are now leaks coming from the heater. Is my heater permanently damaged or do I have some hope for repair? Any guidance is very welcomed.

I would try to open up the case to see what is what but don't hold out much hope it can be fixed.
