Hi, I am new to the forum and have used this heater for 2 years.
1st year that we moved it everything was golden.
2nd year it would not turn on.

The pilot lit is on and stays on.
The only way i have been able to fire it up is by going through the youtube videos and using the jump method.
Once jumped the heater does stay on when i remove the jumpers.

I spoke with a repair person and they charge $140 just to come out minus parts. Any other suggestions you would recommend?
It just seems odd that i can fire it up with the jumper cable and it stays on, i would assume that it would keep turning off if i remove the jumpers.

Based on the troubleshooting guide this may be a bad gas valve from what i see.
What exactly does that mean? cant i just keep bypassing the gas valve with jumpers ?

If you have a volt meter, us the MV(millivolt) setting and seee if the thremopile is putting out the correct MV. Might be a some what weak pilot, possibly.
