Hayward Aqua Rite Repair question

Hi,

New to the forums and searched around a bit but couldn't find an answer so apologies if this has been covered before.

Recently had a "Brown out" with my electric supply and it blew the thermistor on the PCB, i have had this problem before so got a new one soldered back on place of the old one.
Problem i have now is that the power light is on but the "Check Salt" and "Inspect Cell" lights are on and i cannot get a salt reading on the display (PPM) or reset it by holding down the diagnostics button, i swapped a unit i had from another house to check the cell and everything worked just fine, wondering what to do next.

If you switched cells and the unit is working fine, my guess is the cell needs to be replaced. I sent you a private message to talk over the phone.

I swapped out the control unit not the cell.

Does anyone know if there is a "Re-set" procedure or is another component damaged on the board? i inspected it and couldn't visibly see anything burnt.

What are the diagnostic readings?

I suspect that something is miswired or a wire got left off.

Maybe the display board is not set correctly.

Do you have a picture of the boards and wiring?

Picture of board, locally sourced thermistor fitted, same ones as 2 years ago.

The thermistor looks like two pieces. What’s going on with that?

Thermistor is two pieces, i could not get the same part here so used 2 to get the same rating, did this before and it lasted two years before i had another power spike, board now has power after i replaced with new ones (Didn't before) Would have to wire it back up to get diagnostic readings, you need better picture of board removed?

Let's see what the diagnostic readings show.

Check the yellow 20 amps fuse. It's on the board near the orange wire.

How did you size the thermistor?

Yellow fuse ok
Thermistor sized by guy in electronics shop, did this before and it lasted 2+ years, before blowing again.
Need to unplug other unit and plug this one in the get diagnostic readings.

Ok, so i finally purchased a new PCB, swapped over from the old one, powered up and ..... all the LED's started blinking and i could hear the relays clicking on and off, do i need to replace another part or is there something i have done wrong?

Sounds like the display board is not set correctly. Try removing it and resetting it. Make sure that the pins line up in the right holes.

Check all wiring to make sure that every wire is connected correctly.

Turn off power, remove the display board and reinstall it. Make sure that the pins line up in the holes.

Thank you! works now, i didn't wire up the box and the guy that did seemed in a hurry, looks like he may of disturbed something.
