Green water help

Problem: green water after 3 days of rain and vacation.

Pool chemicals: baquacil 1 quart
My pump & filter: cartridge
Other info: used 2 lbs of shock

I am having trouble getting the water to clear up. Am I not adding enough shock. Water is only 6 weeks old. This happened while I was on a 3 day vacation and had 3 days of rain.

Onto the question. You mentioned you’ve added “two pounds of shock.” Can you expand on this comment? What we’re the active ingredients in this Shock??

I used a product by Clorox called Oxi chlorine-free shock. Principle functioning agent is potassium monopersulfate.

Is Oxi non-chlorine shock a product one normally uses in a Bacqua pool? I'm unfamiliar with its use like this.....?

Can you do us a favor and fill out a signature line (under "Settings") and tell us about your pool, its equipment, chemicals, testing, etc? That really goes a long way to help us answer you better. Thanks

I'd say this is one of the first things you need to address. That's a REALLY low pH level. As to non-chlorine shock, you might want to consider Baquacil Line Cleaner. I just started using it towards the latter part of the summer and have had great results. Do you have the means to test your Biguanide and Oxidizer levels?
