Frustrated New Pool Owner in Texas

We just retired and moved into a new-to-us house in the greater Houston metro area, complete with a small pool. I was working for Department of the Army in South Korea for the last five years. Never had a pool before, and was somewhat ambivalent about buying a house with one. Whatever, we own it now!
