We live in Florida and don't use our pool in the winter. Is it okay to check the pH, salt and chlorine daily and forego the weekly test which includes CYA, TA and CH?

Yes. I only really test my FC weekly during the winter. The pH and TA only after a big rain. The rest I don't bother with BUT you have a plaster pool so I would check the CH, pH, and TA if you find they have been changing a lot before now to be on the safe side for your plaster.

I used to check the chlorine and ph every day. Now that I 'know'
my pool, I add 26oz chlorine every day, run all the tests once a week. Add as needed then.
Works for me.
