I’m in Austin and found two PB who will do salt. My theory is that they are all so busy, that they can just cherry pick the projects they want. If you have any damage to your pool, you’ll go back to the pool builder. If you struggle to keep your pool non-green, it won’t occur to you that it’s the builders fault (due to using the inline puck feeder). So why would they take on any added risk if they can usually convince their customers not to use salt and/or just move on to the next prospect?
My advice is to tell them you want salt...call their bluff. See if they decline, or finally give in. The 2 builders I’m working with for final bids both initially recommended against salt. When I told them it’s a hard requirement, they said ok.
