Yes go ahead and see how much you loose overnight. Be sure and test before the sun is on the pool.

ok lost 3 ovm so i just put in 2 1/2 gal of bleach now and will check it at 2.

Try and stay as close to shock level as you can. Instead of running another overnight test tonight, bring it to shock level after the sun sets and test again in the morning.

ok here is my results as of today at 7pm :
FC:3
CC:.5
TC:3.5

i just put 1.5 gal of 10% bleach in and will test in the morning. i still have triclore tablets in a bucket should i still use them or give them away?

You can save the tablets for vacations and anytime you need to raise the CYA a little. As long as they are kept in a dry, airtight container they will last for years.

so dont use them to keep the FC up?

If your CYA level is below 50 you can use them for awhile. Or you can save them to use for vacations if you go out of town. If you are trying to maintain shock level it's better to just use liquid chlorine.
