If you have a feel for how many ppm the pool uses/consumes per day, use that to find a starting point for an initial setting for the cel. If you don't know a good guess would be 1-2 ppm per day. Just be sure to test daily to see if it is steady or trending up or down.
Your pool is 9246 gallons. Water is 8.3 pounds per gallon so you have 79793 pounds of water. 1 ppm would be 79793 divided by 1000000 or .079793 pounds. Looks like you SWCG produces 3.18 pounds per day ...
.079793 / 3.18 = 2.5% for 24 hours will give you 1ppm of chlorine.

Thanks ccbill for the breakdown. Great info. Will set it and do some tests over the next few days to figure out the sweet spot. Cheers

Only thing I’d say is don’t worry if FC runs high; its not harmful or problematic at all. You always would rather be a little high over target, than a little under. When I was starting up my SWCG, on advice here, I let it run a little high, then slowly dialed it back over a few weeks. Avoided any yo-yo effect and flirtation with the minimum levels.

Thanks, I was worried about high fc.today it was 13ppm but cc was <.5 . I’m slowly dialing it down and figuring out the sweet spot for the % and the number of hours to run the pump. 😀

My 3.5 year old swims, no goggles, eyes open all the time in FC around that level. It’s really no concern and provides a lot of confidence against going under the minimum due to high bather load, freak storms and debris, etc.

I found an old thread where mgmoore7 created an excelsheet that calculate pump run time to % setting to amount of chlorine it will produce.
It helped me with my setting.

Doh! Ok will pick up some Muriatic Acid instead. Amazed the pool company gave me the dry acid after they installed the pool.
FC was 9 yesterday using a 25ml sample and 6.5 today using a 10ml sample. Oddly the CC was zero...i needed to add 10 drops to turn the water light pink from the instructed 5 drops. only 1 drop to clear.
For future reference, you only add 5 drops for the CC test. If it doesn’t turn pink, then log the CC as 0ppm. Why are you adding 10 drops?
