Many thanks to all that helped this past week. I finished my Raypak pool heater installation yesterday, despite having no idea what to expect on Monday. It’s definitely not an easy task for someone that’s not familiar with plumbing/electric, but it’s doable for someone with even a little experience. Overall, it took me about 6 hours to do. The most time was spent looking for the parts I needed. The propane company hooked up the heater yesterday around 12PM when the pool was 56 degrees. This morning I woke up and the pool was 78.

I’m setting it at 80, I heard that a pool liner doesn’t handle much hotter than 82, is that accurate?

Attaching some pics!

You can go well above that temperature. Most southern pools in the summer get to near 90F naturally. The liner does not care.

Hope your are covering that pool at night or your propane bill will be something to see!

Good job.

Thanks for the info! Glad to hear I can go higher. Because 80 was fine for the kids, but my wife being the fragile flower she is decided it still could use some more. ;)

And yes, we keep it covered if we’re not swimming due to the three babies we have. :) I still expect an insane amount of propane usage, however. :)
